Sand Mandala, Emory University, October 16-23, 2007 : These images are from the creation of the Avalokiteshvara sand mandala by monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery's Mystical Arts of Tibet, in honor of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his visitation to Emory University.   Avalokiteshvara, or Chenrezig as he is known in Tibetan, is the bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. Tibetans regard the Dalai Lamas as the incarnations of Chenrezig.
